PIPELINE TOUR OF CHRISTIAN COUNTY

Manager Eric Johnson had the opportunity to tour many miles of the Illinois Section of Rockies Express Pipeline this week. He attended with area officials, local leaders, along with IL Senator Demuzio and IL Representative Hannig. Here are some of Eric’s thoughts from the tour

  • The construction process is by far the roughest part of the process.
  • I had an opportunity to see much of the land reclamation, east of Jacksonville. In some of my pictures, you will notice that the construction company did a very good job of reclaiming the land to its original state. Seeing this was important to me, because like many of you…the biggest concern is seeing prime farmland being preserved.
  • I was impressed with the work Rockies Express was doing. I asked a ton of questions and took many pictures and was satisfied with the discussions we engaged in.
  • IDOA reps also conveyed to me their satisfaction with the company’s work on this project. They informed me that the cooperation from Rockies to comply with federal and state requests has been very good.

CCFB will continue to follow this project. If you have additional questions, please contact us at ccfb@ctitech.com.

July 14, 2008
The Illinois Dept. of Agriculture informed CCFB that Rockies Pipeline has “official” permission to start construction in Christian and several surrounding counties. For those of you in the affected area, FERC and IDOA is looking for you to be their “eyes and ears” for them in much of this project. If you experience problems of any kind, use the FERC hotline to report these.
